The legislative elections and presidential primaries that were held in Colombia on March 13th brought some significant changes in Congress configuration. Alternative parties emerge as a considerable force with a bigger presence in the Senate and the House of Representatives which imply a shift in how discussions are held about the country's productive sectors. Furthermore the primaries allowed us to see a clearer landscape about the presidential candidates who will be the frontrunners in the May 29th presidential elections.
From Vali Consulotres we analyze the outcomes regarding the electoral results from the legislative elections and the political landscape of the presidential elections first round. Therefore we present a brief paper on the new congress' possible dynamics, the alliances and possible negotiations the presidential candidates may have in the near future, and which are the main topics the presidential candidate will address in order to win or lose capacity to rule.
